No graphics today, I'm too time crunched. This is one of my last weeks of full-time-out-of-home work for a while and it's kicking my behind already.
That said, VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE.
Monday: My favorite pork roast, mashed potatoes, creamed spinach
Tuesday: Poppy seed chicken casserole, sweet potatoes, salad
Wednesday: Pecan-Panko Chicken Breasts from the late lamented Super Suppers, rice, baked tomatoes
Thursday: Leftovers
Friday: Clearly, we're going out for pizza.
I can't wait for this week to start and I can't wait for it to end. I love love love this job that I'm passing on to the next guy, but I don't want to be gone full time yet. And while I will adore the meetings I have this week, I will pay for it in off-routine, cranky children. Hence, all the stuff on this menu I can make either ahead of time or by just turning on the stove.
'Til tomorrow!

Good luck with your busy week.
How did things go at the parade? I heard the trains were PACKED.
I am pumped because I a much-coveted ticket to the big Obama rally in Grant park. I am anticipating making some sort of crockpot-based meal that day, so that I can leave early to beat the mobs on the train. I may try something new in my repetoire, which is a Chicago specialty: Italian Beef. (Its a sort of regional *fast food* item, much like cheesesteaks and hoagies in Philly. )Its a thinly sliced, garlicky beef simmered in au jus sauce, served on soft french rolls, with gardinera/hot peppers on the side plus potato chips. I will also make a salad to go with it.
I was at the market today, and found an Italian beef *kit* in the frozen meats aisle; this can either mean it stinks or its quite tasty. We shall see. Either way, all I have to do is thaw it overnight and pop in the crockpot on low in the morning with the sauce. Then go to the store for fresh rolls and a bag salad and dinner is done.
Wow, that sounds great (both the Italian Beef and the rally). McCain was here today, at our high school, a few months after Obama. 2000+ attended. I'd be interested to know how many were at Obama's but I'm really just glad they didn't cancel school for it again!
Good luck with the beef kit--hope it's great! Know what you mean about kits being either fabulous or horrible. Fingers crossed for the former.
Don't feel TOO far behind; I'm just barely figuring what we're having for dinner TONIGHT (Tortilla Bean Soup, thank you Jane Brody's Good Food, p. 333), let alone the rest of the week.
Send me an email w/ a worklife update, will you? I am clue free about this move away from out-of-home work.
In other news, we had an awesome Halloween: Headless Accident Victim
Needless to say, the costume was entirely HIS idea.
I'm sorry, but I have lost the address you sent me for the Zipsack you won from 100 Days to Christmas. I think I deleted it (and then cleaned out my delete box). Please email me your address again at jennifer@listplanit.com.
Thanks!
Jen
